Vice President, Global Head of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability — Visa
Douglas Sabo is Vice President, Global Head of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability at Visa Inc. Sabo joined Visa in 2008 after previous roles in Corporate Responsibility and Government Relations for high tech companies and trade associations.
In his current role, he oversees the company’s corporate responsibility and sustainability strategy, initiatives, reporting and communications. He co-chairs the company’s cross-function Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Leadership Council, leads the environmental sustainability and human rights initiatives, and oversees the sustainability reporting process, including shareholder and stakeholder engagement, awards and rankings, and the company’s sustainability report and communications. Sabo’s work includes building out Visa’s initiatives in empowering sustainable living, including through insights, consumer empowerment, vertical sector solutions (e.g., travel and tourism) and the overall movement. Sabo also served as the Founding President of the Visa Foundation, one of the largest corporate foundations in the U.S. based on assets under management.
Sabo currently serves as a member of the advisory boards of Sustainable Brands/Brands For Good, the Strategic Investor Initiative, the Centre for Sport and Human Rights and Net Impact. He is a frequent speaker on a variety of corporate responsibility and sustainability topics on behalf of the company, and in 2019 was named #18 on the Top 100 Corporate Social Responsibility Influence Leaders global list. Sabo’s daily #SustainableLife series on LinkedIn, launched in 2019, has become widely read among those following sustainable living topics.
