Senior Manager, Environmental Stewardship — Timberland
Zack Angelini is the Senior Manager of Environmental Stewardship at Timberland. In this role, Zack leads the development and implementation of Timberland’s global product sustainability strategy, setting public-facing goals and driving internal processes to achieve those goals. Zack also develops and manages strategic partnerships with NGOs and sustainable raw material suppliers that enable Timberland to pilot environmental product innovations, with a focus on regenerative sourcing. Zack participates in industry-wide organizations, such as the Textile Exchange, the Savory Institute, and Regenerative Rising through which he shares the company’s challenges and successes and works collaboratively to solve sustainability issues across the industry.
Prior to joining Timberland, Zack worked for international government and non-profit organizations. With the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization in Perth, Australia, Zack performed environmental baseline studies of the Great Australian Bight, furthering critical research on oil spill response and marine plastic pollution. Zack also co-founded University of New Hampshire Solar Power for Schools, a non-profit group of UNH alumni and graduate students that worked to address the energy crisis in Ghana by providing sustainable energy options and building local capacity.
In 2021, Zack was named to the highly coveted GreenBiz 30 Under 30 for emerging leaders in business sustainability around the world, and Drapers 30 Under 30, which recognizes rising stars in fashion retail – his contributions of course focusing on sustainability.
Zack holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, where he concentrated his studies on life cycle assessment. Zack engages in a myriad of outdoor activities including skiing, hiking, and paddleboarding, all of which further fuel his motivation to protect the environment.
