GM’s Distribution and IT Centers Star in Energy Efficiency

PRESS RELEASE - DETROIT – Eleven General Motors facilities have earned ENERGY STAR® certification for superior energy efficiency from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. These buildings, which include seven parts distribution centers, a global headquarters office and three IT innovation office centers, have optimized their buildings to leave a smaller carbon footprint.To earn ENERGY STAR certification, buildings must perform better in energy efficiency than 75 percent of similar buildings nationwide and meet strict energy efficiency performance levels set by the EPA.

UPS Unveils Updated Hybrid Electric Fleet To Extend Range

PRESS RELEASE - UPS (NYSE:UPS) today announced updates to 125 hybrid electric delivery trucks that extend their range and improve fuel economy as part of the company’s broader Rolling Laboratory approach. A compact, quiet-running 2-cylinder engine replaces a prior 4-cylinder engine to extend their range, improve performance and fuel efficiency. The updated trucks deliver significant fuel economy equivalency gains – up to four times the fuel economy of a gasoline-powered vehicle. They will be deployed in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio and Texas later this year.

Twenty-Six Carlson Rezidor Asia pacific Properties Achieve Earthcheck Gold and Silver Certification

UPS Completes Clean Diesel Projects Supported by EPA Grant Awarded to Leonardo Academy

PRESS RELEASE - United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) recently completed the diesel emissions reduction improvements of six trucks supported by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 2014-2015 Region 6 Grant. The grant was facilitated by Leonardo Academy, a Wisconsin nonprofit organization that supports Clean Diesel improvement projects, among other sustainability initiatives. Specifically, Leonardo Academy facilitated funding to replace six, Class 8 conventional trucks with six, Class 8 trucks that run on renewable compressed natural gas (CNG) in Texas. As a result of the improvements, approximately 4,529.88 tons of carbon dioxide, 85.38 tons of nitrogen oxide, and 4 tons of particulate emissions will be reduced.

BASF Crop Protection improves product traceability and transparency throughout the value chain

DONG Energy, PKA and the LEGO Group partner to finance the 258 MW Burbo Bank Extension offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom

PRESS RELEASE - When completed during the first half of 2017 the Burbo Bank Extension wind farm will be able to supply CO2-free power equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of more than 230,000 households. The wind farm will consist of 32 MHI Vestas V164-8.0MW wind turbines, and Burbo Bank Extension will be the first large-scale wind farm to deploy this new turbine. The combined investment from PKA and KIRKBI A/S totals DKK 6.6 billion, giving each of the companies an equal ownership interest of 25%. The total sum is to be paid in the period 2016-2017.
