ENGIE Impact, the solutions and services company that’s accelerating sustainability transformation worldwide, today announced that it has extended its relationship with Verizon to optimize resource data and provide strategic, analytics-based insights to help the company meet its sustainability targets. For more than 13 years, ENGIE Impact has collaborated with Verizon, a global leader in delivering innovative communications and technology solutions, to build a holistic view of the company’s energy and water performance across all business units, helping to improve resource productivity to support Verizon’s sustainability goals.
“Digital solutions are the foundation for large scale sustainability transformation, which is extremely complex and impact all aspects of a business,” said Olivier Biancarelli Executive Vice President of Customer Solutions at ENGIE. “Verizon sets an extremely high standard for applying resource data and analytics in a holistic way, which is critical to setting achievable sustainability objectives and measuring progress toward those objectives.”
With Verizon’s goal to source renewable energy equal to 50 percent of its total electric usage by 2025, ENGIE Impact will provide the critical data that Verizon requires to analyze and shape its renewable energy strategy, including the design and implementation of the company’s procurement strategies with the optimization of renewable energy sources. ENGIE Impact will also continue to collaborate closely with Verizon to support other sustainability initiatives, including waste management and carbon reduction efforts. For example, ENGIE Impact will continue to provide the data disclosures necessary for Verizon’s reporting into the Carbon Data Project (CDP) as well as supporting the company’s ENERGY STAR® programs. This collaboration has help Verizon earn the EPA’s ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence every year since 2015.
“As Verizon continues strengthening its sustainability commitments and improving the energy efficiency of its operations, the development of robust data-driven operational insights is more important than it’s ever been,” said Anthony Calderan, Director - Energy and Sustainability at Verizon. “With more than a decade of institutional knowledge and a deep understanding of the complexity of the telecom industry, ENGIE Impact provides us with the enterprise-wide detailed data and analysis needed to identify the opportunities and risks associated with specific strategies feeding our sustainability goals.”
