The Arbor Day Foundation’s mission is to inspire people to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees. Founded in 1972, the centennial of the first Arbor Day observance in the 19th century, the Arbor Day Foundation has grown to become the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees, with over one million members, supporters, and valued partners. The impact the Arbor Day Foundation makes on our world is accomplished through our conservation and education programs.

We have a long and storied history of delivering trees to individuals who plant them in their yards, on their acreages, at schools, and in their neighborhoods, enriching America's communities and countryside. Over the last 43 years, the Arbor Day Foundation has delivered more than 200 million trees to millions of members, supporters, and avid tree planters in every state across America. Each year, the millions of trees distributed by the Arbor Day Foundation take root and thrive as a living reminder that we can each make our future more certain by performing the simple act of planting a tree.

UPS and Arbor Day Foundation have a strong relationship dating back to 2008. UPS has supported critical tree planting projects in forests in an effort to help counter carbon that is released into the atmosphere when fossil fuels are burned. As a result, the support of UPS has made possible the planting of more than 400,000 trees in our forests across the country and around the world such as Plumas National Forest in California, Seminole State Forest in Florida, and the Boreal Forest in Canada.

For the past few years, UPS employees have rolled up their sleeves to join Arbor Day Foundation in helping to preserve the Earth's forests, contributing to a healthier global environment for this and future generations to enjoy.

The trees planted by UPS will help sequester atmospheric carbon, restore forest lands to their once majestic glory or enrich neighborhood landscapes, restore wildlife habitat, stabilize soils to reduce pollution and yield clean water, and enhance recreation opportunities. On behalf of our one million members and our team, we thank UPS for your generous support and look forward to many more years working together.
