Ryan Sarsfield is the Latin America Commodities Manager with WRI’s Global Forest Watch Commodities and Finance team. He works to reduce the environmental impact of key commodities in Latin America through collaboration with corporate and NGO partners and the development of tools to reduce deforestation and supply chain risk.
Ryan Sarsfield is the Latin America Commodities Manager with WRI’s Global Forest Watch Commodities and Finance team. He works to reduce the environmental impact of key commodities in Latin America through collaboration with corporate and NGO partners and the development of tools to reduce deforestation and supply chain risk.
Prior to joining WRI, Ryan worked at the intersection of forests and agriculture, focusing on the cattle and soy supply chains in South America, as well as forest policy, protected area management, and tropical ecology. Ryan has lived and worked in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
Ryan holds a B.S. in Biology from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Environmental Science from the Yale University School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.
Originally from Averill Park, NY, Ryan currently resides in Washington, DC. He enjoys listening to a wide variety of music and exploring the great outdoors.
