ASU providing limited scholarships for Executive Master’s for Sustainability Leadership degree

TEMPE, Ariz. – May 13, 2015 – Through generous funding provided by the Rob and Melani Walton Fund of the Walton Family Foundation, Arizona State University will award a limited number of scholarships of up to $15,000 to mid-career professionals applying to the Executive Master’s for Sustainability Leadership program. The admissions application deadline for those who wish to be considered for this scholarship is September 30.

TEMPE, Ariz. – May 13, 2015 – Through generous funding provided by the Rob and Melani Walton Fund of the Walton Family Foundation, Arizona State University will award a limited number of scholarships of up to $15,000 to mid-career professionals applying to the Executive Master’s for Sustainability Leadership program. The admissions application deadline for those who wish to be considered for this scholarship is September 30.

The program, offered by the Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives and administered by the School of Sustainability, equips mid-career professionals with the knowledge and real-world experiences needed to accelerate their careers in sustainability. The program offers students the opportunity to connect with an elite network of sustainability experts and leaders.

“Many organizations seek leaders who can integrate business objectives with implementation of sustainability practices,” said Patricia Reiter, executive director of the Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives. “Our Executive Master’s program provides a competitive advantage for our students through the skills and trainings from our expert faculty, distinguished guest speakers and global alumni.”

The 13-month program commences in January 2016 and is a mix of educationally enriched in-person and online learning experiences, including a weeklong international immersive. Recent graduates from the first cohort currently fill positions such as CEO, sustainability manager, municipal principal planner and senior director of recycling and technology.

To be considered for the 2016 cohort and scholarship, applicants must submit a full application, including an answer to the scholarship essay question, by September 30. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on their complete application after their admission to the program.

The Rob and Melani Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives are the result of an investment in Arizona State University’s Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability by the Walton Family Foundation.
