Sustana Fiber is pleased to announce that their EnviroLife post-consumer recycled fiber is a component of NuVo™, a new brand of cup stock paperboard by Clearwater Paper. NuVo cup stock paperboard contains up to 32 percent of post-consumer recycled fiber.
“This is an industry milestone that we are proud to be a part of,” said Fabian de Armas, Sustana Chairman and CEO. “Thanks to Clearwater Paper’s innovative technology and Sustana Fiber’s unique recycled product, we are raising the bar for what’s possible in the circular economy, especially at a particularly critical time for the recycling industry, and for sustainable business as a whole. We have a deep commitment to sustainability and our key focus is working with like-minded organizations, like Clearwater Paper, to create a closed-loop fiber future.”
“We are excited to introduce NuVo to our customers, with a quality standard that we believe stands apart from any other paperboard cup product in the market,” said Steve Bowden, senior vice president of Clearwater Paper’s pulp and paperboard division. “Our newly-branded NuVo products are an important part of our plan at Clearwater Paper to offer innovative and sustainable solutions that fit the evolving needs of our customers.”
NuVo cups will be on display at the Sustainable Packaging Coalition’s SPC Impact 2019 event April 1-4, 2019 in Seattle, Washington. Sustana Fiber and Clearwater Paper will also be collecting and recycling all coffee cups used at SPC Impact to ensure they make their way back into the circular economy.
