invisaband is a DEET-free, mosquito-repellent microfiber bracelet currently seeking funding on Indiegogo.
Creator Gogadgety, Inc. says invisaband improves upon existing repellent lotions and sprays in several ways:
- It requires no rubbing and makes no mess
- It contains no toxic chemicals
- Each band reportedly repels mosquitos for over 120 hours, eliminating the need to continuously re-apply the repellent — the microfibre material allows for a gradual release of the active ingredient, geraniol oil.
invisaband is adjustable to fit all wrist sizes, or it can be attached as a strap to a belt loop, hat, stroller or backpack. To ease worries about the efficacy of the product, GoGadgety has become the first Indiegogo campaigner to back its project with a 60-day, money-back guarantee.
Just over a week into its campaign, the band has raised just over $2,200 of its $10,000 goal, with 18 days left to go.
Along with products such as Kite Patch — which raised over 740 percent of its funding goal on Indiegogo this time last year — the easy-to-wear band with its long-lasting repelling action has the potential to become another weapon in the ongoing global fight against malaria if it makes it to market.
