Sustainable Brands has been running a startup competition for the past 6 years but this is the first time we have run it overseas. Over the past few months we have been searching for the best and brightest new ventures disruptively innovating for a sustainable future.
Two weeks ago we shortlisted 12 entrants and invited the public to vote for who they wanted to join the SB community. The weeks thereafter our esteemed judges have been deliberating over which 3 companies will join them. All 4 will come to Sustainable Brands London for the chance to pitch in front of the full audience and be introduced to the highly influential group of brand and thought leaders. At the event the judges will choose an overall winner who will receive leading-edge consultancy time with Dragon Rouge and a golden SB ticket to come to future SB events.
Today we can announce and introduce you to who the final 4 are! In no particular order here are the SBIO London 2013 finalists:
Neighbourly.com
neighbourly.com (neighbourly®) is a digital marketplace for community projects. It helps communities and socially responsible companies come together to get stuff done. We’ve combined social networking and dating features to build a platform that makes intelligent introductions that lead to powerful shared value partnerships between communities and brands.
Pulpworks
PulpWorks designs and manufactures the patent-pending "PW-Pack", an environmentally-friendly alternative to the toxic and ubiquitous PVC blister pack at a competitive price. Our "PW-Pack is comprised of 100% recycled pulp and paper, contains no plastic, and can be composted when discarded. Our mission is to replace PVC blister packaging.
Gravity Light
Deciwatt is a product development organisation with a social goal – to empower people through sustainable and affordable low power solutions. Its first product is GravityLight, an innovative device generating light from gravity that enables people to break free from the economic, health and environmental hazards of kerosene lamps.
