Sustainable Brands® to Unveil New Concept in Collaborative Learning

SAN FRANCISCO, May 29, 2014 – Sustainable Brands® will debut its new model for showcasing collaborative business partnerships that are affecting positive change in the economy. The Activation Hub at SB’14 San Diego, running June 2-5th at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego, will feature brands and next generation business solutions in conversation and working together to create a net positive impact in the world today.

SAN FRANCISCO, May 29, 2014 – Sustainable Brands® will debut its new model for showcasing collaborative business partnerships that are affecting positive change in the economy. The Activation Hub at SB’14 San Diego, running June 2-5th at the Paradise Point Resort & Spa in San Diego, will feature brands and next generation business solutions in conversation and working together to create a net positive impact in the world today.

The Activation Hub is designed to spur thinking beyond the norm, ignite collaborative conversation and accelerate the exchange of tools and ideas among attendees and participating exhibitors. By re-imagining the traditional expo experience, over 90 participants in the Activation Hub will focus on interactivity and discussion that leads to redesigning the regenerative economy of the future. Organizations confirmed to participate by showcasing their innovations and partnerships this year include: BASF, HP, Nissan, Target, Coca-Cola, SAP, Target, ecoATM, Arrow Electronics, Fenton Communications, Schneider Electric, WeSpire, The Nature Conservancy, EDF among others.

Launching this year, afternoon SB’14 San Diego conference breakout sessions in the Supply Chain & Procurement track, sponsored by SAP, are open to all Activation Hub attendees. Attendees will participate in interactive discussions and hear directly from business leaders at SAP, Pure Strategies, LEGO, Schneider Electric, Fenton, PRé Sustainability, Arrow Electronics and more.

BASF Materials & Chemistry Lounge: BASF’s nutrition experts are hosting conversations around one of mankind’s greatest challenges – feeding our rapidly growing population. Various activities are scheduled throughout the week.

HP Presents the Living Progress Exchange: HP is hosting an exchange of ideas and thought leadership focused on the triple bottom line asking: What if EVERY organization considered all social, economic and environmental aspects of their business? Globescan will facilitate conversations with Kiva and others from inside the exchange. A live Twitter Chat with Triple Pundit and CSRWire is scheduled for Wed, June 4 at 8am PT/11am ET with Chris Librie, Senior Director, Strategy and Communications, HP Corporate Affairs.

SB Innovation Open Semi-finalist Presentations: The SB Innovation Open semi-finalist business plan competition pitch-off is Tuesday, 2:00 – 3:30pm in the Target Product & Service Innovation Lounge. Sponsored by Target. Co-sponsored by PRé Sustainability and Sprint.

SAP - Hosting the Supply Chain & Procurement Lounge, leading the conversation with an interactive deep dive into the relationship between The Sustainability Consortium, SAP, and Walmart around “Emerging Vertical Partnerships for Scale in Impact Measurement: The Case of The Sustainability Consortium.”

Nissan LEAF® Ride and Drive: Attendees will experience innovation first hand when they test drive the 100% electric Nissan LEAF®. Nissan’s zero emissions vehicle is powered exclusively by an advanced lithium-ion battery that can be charged at home. Test drives are available near the Activation Hub entrance.

Coca-Cola’s EKOCENTER™ Coke’s EKOCENTER™ addresses global development challenges by providing safe drinking water, internet access, electricity and vaccination storage to millions in need. Attendees can visit the EKOCENTER™ in front of the Activation Hub entrance.

ecoATM: Will lead discussion around tangible solutions to e-waste and showcase demonstrations of their ecoATMs that turn old electronics into instant cash.

Causeway: Over a dozen organizations featured are fostering high-impact partnerships with purpose-driven brands. Participants include: The Nature Conservancy, EDF, FSC, Nation Park Foundation, National Wildlife Federation, Bonneville Environmental Foundation and more.

The Activation Hub is integrated into SB’14 San Diego and runs Monday, June 2nd through Thursday, June 5th.
