There aren’t many companies out there that can credibly and deservedly be referred to as category-defining or category-shifting, but Oatly sure is one of them. Over the course of its existence to date, the Oatly brand has become synonymous with plant-based milk and steering away from traditional dairy products – so much so, in fact, that not long ago it became the first food and drink company to be honored as a Climate Solutions Company by the prestigious Exponential Roadmap Initiative, a well-deserved recognition of Oatly’s leadership in enabling climate-friendly behavior change at scale. And the company is not stopping there – in partnership with Futerra and Oxford Net Zero, it has recently also become the first company to trial a new “Spheres of Influence” model for setting targets, measuring and reporting on its impact outside of its direct value chain, i.e. its contribution to societal net zero (!). This session will outline the key pillars of that work and share important lessons to date.
