Jamie Burr

National Pork Board

Jamie leads the organization’s six-member sustainability team of public health, animal science, animal welfare and environmental experts who advance the pork industry’s sustainability goals with a focus on protecting the producer’s freedom to operate.

Before joining the Pork Board, Jamie worked in a variety of sustainability and environmental roles at Tyson Foods for 24 years. Jamie has served on several state and national policy workgroups and industry committees, including the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Federal Advisory Committee. He is currently a commissioner with the Natural Resources Division of the Arkansas Department of Agriculture. 

Jamie started showing pigs at a young age and worked in a sale-barn that was owned by his family from the 1950’s through the turn of the century. Jamie earned Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and a Master of Natural and Applied Science degree in Soil Science from Missouri State University.
