Kirk is the Director of Sustainability for Alaska Airlines, the premier West Coast airline that flies 44 million guests a year to more than 115 destinations with an average of 1,200 daily flights across the United States and to Mexico, Canada and Costa Rica.
Alaska has been ranked by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index as the most sustainable airline in North America. Kirk works to develop and implement sustainable business strategies that innovate and drive positive impact in line with Alaska’s values. His main focuses are greenhouse gas emissions, waste reduction, sustainable aviation fuel. Kirk has worked in sustainability for over a decade, after working in a variety of fields including outdoor retail and social entrepreneurship. He received his MBA in Sustainable Business from Bainbridge Graduate Institute, and enjoys exploring the Seattle area with his two sons.
