Marea Pappas is a Director for the Communities and Influence team within the Private Sector Engagement Hub (PSE Hub) in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Marea focuses on demonstrating the value of engagement with USAID to key external audiences by articulating USAID’s reciprocal value to private sector partners and collaborators as well as bolstering the Agency’s reputation as a thought leader in the field of enterprise-driven development. Prior to the PSE Hub, Marea worked in the Bureau for Resilience & Food Security at USAID providing technical support to facilitate partnerships to the Agency and liaise with private sector representatives in the strategic development and implementation of food security and resilience partnership activities. Before joining USAID, Marea was the Food Security & Livelihoods Program Coordinator at Food for the Hungry focusing on Development Food Assistance Programs in Ethiopia and Democratic Republic of Congo. Marea earned a Master’s in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor’s in International Business from Sam Houston State University.
