Ryan Cooper

Waste Diversion Manager & Organics Recycling Lead

My masters thesis, Municipal Anaerobic Digestion and Composting, focused on organics recycling programs in the US, Canada, and Europe.

After writing for BioCycle magazine and finishing a project with GreenBlue's Sustainable Packaging Coalition, an EPA Region 4 sustainable materials management grant called Scaling Up Composting in the Charlotte Region, I am currently designing, implementing and managing the organics recycling offerings at Rubicon Global.

Servicing more than one million customer service locations across North America and throughout the world, Rubicon is a certified B Corp that, partnered with its network of more than 5,000 haulers and processors, helps support local business and drive waste diversion from the landfill.

Other organics recycling related projects include establishing a Small Type III composting facility in Spruce Pine, NC, establishing a composting pilot program in Charlottesville, VA, and composting at various events and festivals.
