Nestlé Seen As ‘Global Leader’ in Tackling Climate Change

Nestlé has been recognized as a global leader for its response to climate change, again earning a place in the annual CDP Climate A List. Nestlé is among just 5 percent of participating companies to be featured on the 2017 Climate A List, compiled by global non-for-profit charity CDP. This is in recognition of action taken in the last year to cut emissions, mitigate climate risks and develop the low-carbon economy. Climate change leadership is part of Nestlé’s purpose of enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future.

Over the last 10 years there has been real progress. Nestlé has reduced direct greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per tonne of product by 39%, while increasing production by 46%. We are on track to achieve our science-based 2020 objective to reduce GHG emissions (Scopes 1 and 2) per tonne of product by 35% in our manufacturing operations versus 2010.

The Climate A List and full company score is released in CDP's Tracking progress on corporate climate action.
