SB'20 Yokohama Delivers on the Good Life

Over 3,300 were in attendance at SB'20 Yokohama to learn about and experience the latest trends in the sustainability.

SB’20 Yokohama opened last week and marked the fourth time the event was held in Japan. The largest community event on sustainability in Japan, over 3,300 were in attendance to learn about and experience the latest trends in the sustainability of companies, NPOs / NGOs, and local governments inside and outside Japan. They connected with brand innovators who are active at the forefront of each industry, shared issues, and created collaborations for realizing a sustainable society.

Various sessions based on the theme "Delivering THE GOOD LIFE" were held and invited over 230 innovation leaders from Japan and overseas, including Masaaki Tsuya, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Bridgestone Corporation, Masahiko Uotani, President & Group CEO of Shiseido Co.,Ltd., and Tamotsu Adachi, Representative Director, President and CEO of Benesse Holdings, Inc.

The conference also featured new programs such as a meeting of municipal officials of future SDGs cities across Japan to talk about the important social issue of “regional revitalization”, a workshop with a theme of “next-generation education” inviting university students and high school students from all over the country as special guests, and a program to support teachers in charge of producing next-generation sustainable leaders.

February 18 / Minato Mirai Innovation Tour (Excursion tour) Participants visited the urban innovation area which Yokohama is focusing its efforts on, and the R&D centers of Shiseido, Nissan, and Fujitsu, and Minatomiraihoncho Elementary school while walking around and cleaning the streets of Yokohama.
