- The Goodwill store on Forsyth Road is getting a boutique makeover thanks to the art department at Wesleyan College. Under a new partnership with the college, Goodwill has created an artist gallery in the store in the Wesleyan Station shopping center.
The students took donated Goodwill materials and turned them into wall hangings that are now decorating the store along with Pitts’ designs and ceramics. Each month, a new display will be featured in the shop.
“The monthly featured artists in the gallery space will provide new reasons to shop at the Wesleyan Station Goodwill store,” said James Stiff, president of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia, who suggested the collaboration.

- Mission-driven startup Give Back Box® was founded in 2012 by Monika Wiela, who at the time was running an online shoe store. The idea was inspired by a homeless man she encountered in Chicago, who was holding up a sign saying he needed a pair of shoes. Wiela returned later that day with shoes for him, but he was gone. She spent that night thinking about what she could do with all the empty boxes in her warehouse and also help people like that man, and a new social enterprise was born.

Career Connectors announced today they would enter into partnership to help better serve those in career transition in the greater Phoenix area.
Goodwill, with 19 no-cost career centers across the Valley, has been extremely successful at helping local jobseekers find employment. Their career centers are funded through donations and Goodwill retail stores.

Donors can open the Uber app on Saturday, select the GIVE option at the bottom of the screen and request a pickup for their donations to be delivered directly to their local Goodwill, free of charge.
