Doug Gatlin is CEO of Green Seal, a global nonprofit dedicated to accelerating the adoption of safer, more sustainable products. A 25-year veteran of the energy efficiency and sustainability field, he is widely recognized for his expertise in designing, launching, and scaling voluntary market transformation programs that drive real-world impact. Before joining Green Seal in 2018, Doug held leadership roles at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Green Building Council, where he helped shape two of the most influential programs in the field: EPA’s ENERGY STAR® for Buildings and USGBC’s LEED® for Building Operations & Maintenance. His career blends deep product management and nonprofit leadership experience with a strong foundation in economic and policy analysis. Doug holds a B.S. in Political Science from Duke University and an M.S. in Energy and Environmental Policy from Georgetown University. He is a passionate advocate for harnessing the power of markets, technology, and innovation to advance sustainability in ways that maximize both efficiency and equity.
