Emily Lin is a sustainability thought leader working at the intersection of systems thinking, circular economy strategy, and industrial transformation in the apparel and consumer goods industries. She is driven by a deep commitment to building a more just and resilient world.
Her work focuses on turning complex sustainability challenges into practical, scalable decisions inside companies. At Vince, she leads and champions sustainability initiatives across the business, including exploring responsible packaging and end-of-life solutions, helping shape how sustainability is considered in strategy and operations.
She holds a Master of Environmental Management from the Yale School of the Environment, specializing in Industrial Ecology and Green Chemistry, and a Bachelor's in Policy Analysis and Management at Cornell University. Moreover, her work in advancing circular economy solutions was recognized when she was named an Emerging Leader at Trellis (formerly Greenbiz) Circularity 2025. She currently volunteers at the West Hollywood Farmer's Market for Food Forward Inc., reducing food waste and increasing access to healthy fruits and vegetables for local food banks and shelters.
During her last year of graduate school, Emily worked as a Sustainability and Circularity Analyst at Cotopaxi, supporting emissions accounting and disclosure, advancing circularity across the value chain, and contributing to the company’s 2024 Impact Report. She also developed analytical models to evaluate the cost and carbon impact of its end-of-life program, translating data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
More broadly at Yale, Emily served as Student Lead for the Industrial Ecology & Green Chemistry Learning Community, shaping programming and fostering a community of students to become leaders in the field. She also taught Industrial Ecology as a Graduate Teaching Fellow and contributed to global green chemistry education initiatives through Yale’s Center for Green Chemistry and Green Engineering in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
