Over the course of my 32 years at Dow, I’ve been fortunate to combine my love of sustainability and engineering. Today I serve as the Global Sustainability Director for Packaging and Specialty Plastics, and I proudly serve on the board of directors for GreenBlue.
Sustainability and engineering have been in my blood since birth. I was born on my family’s dairy farm in Northwest Iowa and was an avid reader of Mother Earth News as a kid. I was fascinated by how things work and loved listening to my uncle, a chemical engineer, explain things. He had a knack for making the mundane science seem exciting and he inspired me to study chemical engineering in college.
Working at Dow, I’ve been fortunate to combine my love of both of these things – sustainability and engineering - and turn them into a career. For the last decade, I’ve been focused on plastics sustainability and the issue of waste, spearheading a number of sustainability programs and leading conversations on how we build a sustainable, circular future for our industry and our planet.
Today I serve as the Global Sustainability Director for Packaging and Specialty Plastics, and I proudly serve on the board of directors for GreenBlue. Previously, I was the President of AMERIPEN and have enjoyed my engagement with The Sustainable Packaging Coalition and many great organizations working to advance sustainability. I am passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, sustainability, food, travel, football (Go Texans!) and skiing.
