Jenny Gottstein is the creator of Beat! That! Heat! - a game show where players compete in wacky challenges while they learn about climate solutions. This dynamic virtual + in-person experience was designed as a tool for companies and organizations working to inspire hope while imparting actionable information around sustainability initiatives.
Prior to developing the game show, she led projects in IDEO’s Play Lab - helping organizations, government agencies and companies leverage the power of play design to accelerate and scale their positive impact.
As the Director of Games and Innovation at The Go Game, she led a global team of game designers in producing thousands of interactive adventure games around the world for education, teambuilding, marketing, entertainment, tourism and institutional change. She was recognized in Forbes 30 Under 30 for interactive game design.
As the Director of Programming for the Millennial Trains Project she helped to create custom cross-country experiences aboard vintage train cars. These multi-city tours were designed to expose young innovators to a multi-faceted vision of America, help them grow as leaders, and launch social impact projects to serve their respective communities.
As an interactive event producer, she designed over 600 adventure games that blurred the lines between reality and fiction, digital and analog, education and entertainment. With clients ranging from Nike, HBO, Kaiser Permanente, YMCA, to California Refuse Recycling Council, Jenny has led immersive game projects, creativity trainings and design workshops around the world.
From zombie apocalypse games to voting education parties to climate action game shows, she has spent the last 15 years designing joyful experiences to increase engagement around disaster preparedness, textile recycling, financial literacy, civic engagement and environmental stewardship.
