Natalia King Quick is a dedicated advocate for sustainability and environmental justice with a rich background in waste diversion and community engagement. At the County of San Diego’s Office of Sustainability and Environmental Justice, Natalia advances sustainability efforts across various offices and supports departmental sustainability commitments. She coordinates both external and internal sustainability initiatives, providing expertise in circular economy and zero waste throughout the region and organization. She is a lead author of the County’s 2025 updated Environmentally Preferrable Procurement (EPP) policy, an organizer of the County’s annual Earth Day celebrations, and manages the region’s first circular economy assessment, From Waste to Worth: A Circular Economy for Regional Prosperity.

Previously, Natalia was a Recycling Specialist II with the County’s Department of Public Works, overseeing commercial and multi-family complex recycling programs. She also worked at the non-profit I Love A Clean San Diego, managing the Countywide waste diversion hotline and database, WasteFreeSD.org, and supporting community litter cleanup and beautification events. Natalia's passion for sustainability began in her teenage years and was further developed at UC San Diego, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Ecology, Animal Behavior, and Evolution. She is a certified TRUE Advisor ™ and a Certified Sustainable Resource Management Professional (CSRMP).

 Outside of work, Natalia enjoys working with her non-profit, San Diego Brewcycling Collaborative, spending time with friends and her husband, Matthew, gardening with their four cats, and playing tabletop and video games. Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, she is fluent in both Ukrainian and English.
