Located on the Rincon Indian Reservation, in Valley Center, Harrah’s Resort Southern California (HRSC) has abundant access to the California sun. Excellent – what a perfect opportunity for solar. Since installing solar across the property in 2009, HRSC has saved more than $300,000 each year as the 1.6 MW of sun-powered energy generated annually does everything from chill the air that helps keep the resort’s 1,065 hotel rooms cool to maintain the perfect swimming temperature in the pools. As property operations manager Brendan O’Kane puts it, the solar system is “free power” – and it doesn’t get much better than that.
