Where the Chemistry Happens… We are seeking a Sustainability Manager to join our Care Chemicals division for North America which includes the USA, Canada and Mexico. BASF leads Home & Personal care industries in bringing sustainable solutions to drive differentiation and help enable our customers to meet their sustainability targets. The BASF division of Care Chemicals offers a broad range of ingredients for hygiene, personal care, home care, industrial and institutional cleaning, and technical applications. We are the leading supplier for the cosmetics industry as well as the detergents and cleaning agents industry and support our customers worldwide with innovative and sustainable products, solutions, and concepts. The high-performance product portfolio of the division includes surfactants, emulsifiers, polymers, emollients, chelating agents, cosmetic active ingredients, pigments, and UV filters. Super absorbents developed for the full spectrum of hygiene applications complete the range. Sustainability Manager (1603563) In this customer facing role, you will be responsible for leading sustainability strategy development and implementation for North America (the USA, Canada and Mexico) Home & Personal Care business of our Care Chemical division. You will integrate sustainability in marketing strategies to drive unique value propositions for our customers. - Lead sustainability strategy development and implementation for Home & Personal Care in North America certifications like NPA, NSF, SaferChoice, Bio-preferred
- Develop marketing positioning, concepts and promotional material for sustainability offerings
- Train sales team and support promotional activities for sustainability. Represent NA for global sustainability programs
- Serve as a thought leader and BASF NA representative for various industry and retail organizations

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred
- 3+ years of experience in creating sustainability strategy and leading customer facing sustainability initiatives
- Experience interacting /interfacing with executive level at the customer
- Ability to influence different stakeholders within BASF and outside; Cross functional team / project experience required
- Experience in interacting with industry influencers (retailers, Non Governmental Organizations)
- Industry experience in Home & Personal Care preferred
- Experience in strategic marketing/operational marketing role or related commercial role preferred
- Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time
