As of January 2016, local company Gone Adventurin’ successfully completed the rigorous process to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency, evaluating how their practices impact their employees, community, the environment & their customers, to become B Corp Certified.
Unlike traditional corporations, Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions not only on their shareholders, but also on their stakeholders (e.g., workers, suppliers, community, consumers, and the environment). The performance standards B Corps meet are comprehensive, transparent and verified.
Certified B Corporations are leaders of a global movement of people using business as a force for good. There are more than 1,500 Certified B Corporations in over 120 industries and 40 countries with 1 unifying goal – to redefine success in business. So far there are only 2 other organisations that have achieved the B Corporate status in Singapore.
Gone Adventurin’ is on a mission to help companies #DiscoverPurpose - through integrating sustainability and social impact into a profitable & core part of business. They saw the opportunity to create the business when it was discovered that Brands with a clear purpose to improve lives outperformed S&P500 by 400%^^ They do this through Engaging Employees, Inspiring Communication and Innovation. It’s a combination of an Advertising, Talent & Social Innovation Agency.
“We had to create a new industry, because what we wanted to do didn’t exist yet! We saw a real problem with GenY wanting to quit their jobs, Companies struggling to communicate the good they do, and companies not being able to innovate for a better future - so we do all three under one service!”
Jacqui Hocking, Co-founder
As part of their long-term strategy to inspire more Singaporeans to care about the planet, Gone Adventurin’ is also hosting the first ever Singapore Environmental Film Festival & is the on-ground partner for National Geographic LIVE:
“We hope by bringing in National Geographic explorers to Singapore, more young people will be inspired to find a real Purpose within their careers!”
Paula Miquelis, Gone Adventurin’ Project Manager for NatGeo LIVE
