The Seal Genie hose washer is designed to last for years and never leak, which saves consumers' water, money and energy while reducing pollution through wasted resources. The company says its aspires to become the new world standard for hose washers, which also includes washing machines, RV and marine water hookups and many others that all use the same basic washer size.

"The sooner consumers find out they don't have to put up with wasteful, leaking hose connections the better," said Ralph Machesky, CEO/President of Seal Genie, LLC. "People may know that water is important, but simply do not fathom the scale and impact. Our lives are all dependent on water and our product is going to help reduce the needless waste of water, energy and resources."

Seal Genie says it will donate 5 percent of its net profits to charity: water, a non-profit that delivers clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations.

"We encourage others to join us and design their products from the very start with the future of the Earth and its resources as the top design priority," said Machesky.

The innovative hose washer is currently entered in Wal-Mart's "Get on the Shelf" contest as well as Martha Stewarts "American Made" competition.

In related news, AT&T and the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) recently released a new suite of tools the organizations claim can collectively save U.S. commercial buildings up to 28 billion gallons of water annually. The toolkit gives organizations simple, cost-effective resources to build their own water efficiency programs and includes both technical and management tools to design, implement and document water savings. The combination of tools can be used to create the business case for investments in efficient water management.
