Building Product Decisions Powered by Data: Demonstration of the Quartz Project Open Database, by: Vivien Dien, Flux and Heather Gadonniex, thinkstep

Attendees will learn about the first collaborative, open data initiative that combines health and environmental impact data on building materials empowering the AEC industry to achieve greater sustainability. The Quartz database is the result of a year-long collaboration with an overall mission to promote the transparency of building product information. The environmental and health impact data on 100 common building products is now freely available to building owners, architects and sustainability specialists, as well as to the general public under Creative Commons licensing.

Sustainability Leader Showcase: Corporate Sustainability Reporting in the Building Industry, by: Amanda Goetsch, Inpro and Heather Gadonniex, thinkstep

There has been strong focus on documenting product sustainability credentials through reports like EPDs and HPDs but what about the overall sustainability of the corporate enterprise? This presentation showcases manufacturer Inpro and details their road to reporting on the sustainability of their corporation and supply chain and the value this brings to their business.
