Alessandro Carlucci is Chairman of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), Chairman of the Advisory Board of Delta fund (Towerbrook impact fund), a Board member of Natura Cosmetics, where he worked as an executive for 25 years (the last 10 as its CEO), an Executive in Residence, Advisory Board member of Deming Center/ECLA at Columbia Business School, and a Research Scholar at NYU Stern Center for Business School (NYU).
He has previously been Chairman of Arezzo & Co (a fashion company in Brazil), a Board member of Rodan & Fields, a Board member of Lojas Renner (a fast-fashion company in Brazil), Chairman of the World Direct Selling Association (WFDSA), a Board member of Redecard (Itaú-Unibanco) and an Alcoa Advisory Board member (Latin America).
During his tenure as CEO, Natura’s net income grew fourfold, from R$ 1.7 billion to R$ 7 billion, becoming the biggest CFT company in Brazil. The international business grew quickly (CAGR 35%), with the opening of Mexico and Colombia operations. EBITDA increased from R$ 431 million to R$ 1.6 billion, and in 2009 he led a Follow-On, increasing the company’s float from 25% to 40%. The company has been "carbon neutral" since 2007, and reached the goal of 33% reduction of CO2 emissions between 2007 and 2013. Natura has been recognized as one of the most sustainable companies in the world.
Alessandro holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), an Executive MBA from PDG/SDE, and also completed executive programs at INSEAD, Wharton, and Kellogg
