Just in time for this season of excess and merrymaking, BeMyDD (Be My Designated Driver), the nation’s largest designated driver service, has launched a joint promotion with Brown-Forman Corporation, one of the U.S.’ largest wine and spirits companies — with brands including Jack Daniel’s, Southern Comfort, Finlandia, Korbel and others — that offers first-time users of the BeMyDD transportation service a US$20 discount on their first reservation.
BeMyDD offers an alternative to ridesharing services such as Uber and Lyft with a range of affordable services in which professional, experienced chauffeurs operate the customer’s own vehicle, priced at a pre-determined rate, free of surge pricing or other surprise fees. All drivers are background-screened, interviewed and fully insured by ByMyDD.
“We believe in producing and promoting our brands responsibly,” said Marc Hindorff, Senior Corporate Responsibility Manager at Brown-Forman. “We encourage consumers to plan ahead and arrange for a Designated Driver through BeMyDD and give the gift of a DD to family and friends to enrich their holiday season. We are proud to partner with BeMyDD this holiday season to keep our roads safe.”
Brown-Forman will be promoting the Designated Driver Program through social media to followers of its brands. The $20 discount can be obtained by making a reservation at any of the following pages:
The $20 discount is only available to first-time customers of the BeMyDD service and the reservation must be made by individuals that are 21 years of age or older. A three-hour minimum driver reservation is required. Rates vary by city and range between $14 and $19.50 per hour. The promotion runs through January 2, 2015.
BeMyDD has had a formal partnership with Brown-Forman for three years and continues to work closely with the company to promote responsibility. In addition to the Designated Driver Program, the two companies are running radio spots in Tampa promoting Jack Daniel’s and Southern Comfort brands in conjunction with BeMyDD’s designated driver services.
“BeMyDD is all about having fun, but doing it in a responsible way,” said Arthur Simanovsky, BeMyDD President and CEO. “Brown-Forman is a valued partner in helping us promote that important message.”
In October, the International Center for Alcohol Policies and the Global Alcohol Producers Group, of which Brown-Forman is a member, launched a new organization called the International Alliance for Responsible Drinking (IARD) to help reduce harmful drinking and promote responsible drinking through research, programs and advocacy around the world. Other provisional board members of the new organization include: Anadolu EFES; AB InBev; Asahi Breweries; Bacardi; Beam Suntory; Brewers Association of Japan; Carlsberg; Constellation; Diageo; Heineken; JSLMA; Kirin; Moët Hennessy; Molson Coors; Pernod Ricard; and SABMiller.
