Through technology, we’re able to deliver educational content to more people, in more places, no matter their background. With new tools emerging every day, it’s an exciting time to be involved in this field and to work for a tech company that is helping to transform education.

Through AT&T Aspire, we’ve committed $350 million to help students succeed in school and beyond. And we are always looking for new ways to engage our network, employees and collaborators to improve learning.

Take for example our work with Udacity to prepare students of all ages with the skills they need to succeed in tech careers. Through online, affordable and flexible training, people like Kimberly James Crosby, can earn Nanodegree credentials in valuable skills like Web development. Kimberly works mornings in a warehouse and spends her afternoons at the Atlanta branch of Year Up, all while participating in the Nanodegree program to advance her career.

We also recently launched the AT&T Aspire Accelerator in search of the next game-changing solution to education challenges. Through the program, we will fund and mentor ed-tech businesses and non-profits that use technology to improve student achievement.

Our employees are also actively involved in Aspire and have provided more than 700,000 hours of mentoring through Aspire Mentoring Academy. Through our work with non-profit collaborators, employees can connect with students across the country at work, in schools and through online platforms.

After more than a century of work on education, it’s invigorating to see how our programs and investments continue to evolve along with our technology. Read more about our recent initiatives in the 2014 annual report.
