AT&T and SunEdison Launch Alternative Energy System in the Lone Star State

In pursuit of our commitment to decrease our environmental impact in the communities in which we live, work and serve in, this week we unveiled our new 677 kilowatt solar panel system that will provide energy for an AT&T facility in Lancaster, Texas. This solar panel array was designed, developed and deployed with the help of SunEdison.

By: John Keller In pursuit of our commitment to decrease our environmental impact in the communities in which we live, work and serve in, this week we unveiled our new 677 kilowatt solar panel system that will provide energy for an AT&T facility in Lancaster, Texas. This solar panel array was designed, developed and deployed with the help of SunEdison. This isn’t the first time we’ve worked with the world’s largest renewable energy developer in pursuit of our environmental commitment. Working together since 2010, AT&T and SunEdison have deployed over 3.2 megawatts of clean energy at eight AT&T facilities in three states. However, this is the first time we’ve worked together in AT&T’s home state of Texas. With plenty of sunshine year-round, Lancaster was a perfect community in which to launch our Lone Star State solar initiative. This solar panel array is expected to produce 1,056,000 kilowatt-Hours (kWh) of electricity per year, and is projected to keep 12,932,458 pounds of CO2 (or, in more practical terms, emissions equivalent to burning more than 6.3 million pounds of coal) from entering the atmosphere.
