Energy Star Honors Best Buy For 5th Year

What does it mean when you see the ENERGY STAR® logo on a product? The little blue sticker means the item meets the highest standards of energy efficiency, set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

At Best Buy, we like this logo because it helps us identify sustainable products for our customers, helping them save energy and money on their utility bills.

Because of our dedication to educating customers and offering a wide variety of ENERGY STAR certified products, the EPA has named Best Buy a Retail Partner of the Year for the fifth year in a row. For this streak, we also get to claim the title of Sustained Excellence.

We’re proud of the numbers behind the award, too. Since 2009, we’ve helped our customers save $707 million on utility bills and prevented 9.8 billion pounds of CO2 emissions through the purchase of ENERGY STAR certified products.

And here’s a fun fact: It’s not just appliances. We sell ENERGY STAR certified products in more than 20 categories, from home theater sound bars to air purifiers. So just look for the logo when you’re shopping for any electronic product.

We look forward to accepting the award at a ceremony April 20 in Washington D.C.
