Program Promotes Conservation and Recreation, Inspires Families To Explore America’s Parks ______________________________________________________________________ (Rockville, Md): Caesars Foundation is sponsoring the National Park Trust’s (NPT) signature National Kids to Parks Day (KTP) initiative on Saturday, May18, when cities and companies across the country will host park events. These events seek to promote outdoor recreation, conservation and carbon footprint reduction. KTP is a grassroots national movement to encourage children and families to explore local, state and national parks in their communities. “Never has there been a more critical time for educating ourselves and our children about being responsible stewards of the environment,” said Gwen Migita, Caesars Entertainment Corporation vice president of sustainability & community affairs. “National Kids to Parks Day is a fun way for families to experience the outdoors while learning about healthy and active living and environmental responsibility.” Caesars Foundation’s participation in National Kids to Parks Day is an extension of its established relationship with NPT to educate children and families about the responsible use of natural resources. "We are delighted to work with the Caesars Foundation again this year,” said Grace Lee, executive director, National Park Trust. “This initiative encourages children and their families to experience the history and beauty of their neighborhood parks and their opportunities to protect and preserve them." The Caesars Foundation seeks financial commitments for organizations that also provide opportunities for Caesars Entertainment’s HERO employee volunteers to participate in local and regional community efforts. As such, more than 3,000 Caesars Entertainment employees and their families have been impacted through National Park Trust’s programs implemented by the HEROs. From April to June, Caesars Entertainment’s properties across the country will host Kids to Parks Day events to inspire their communities to get outdoors and be responsible stewards of the environment. A full listing of events being sponsored by Caesars Foundation can be found at www.kidstoparks.org ABOUT NATIONAL PARK TRUST National Park Trust is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving parks today and creating park stewards for tomorrow. As people spend more time indoors and as successive generations grow up with less of a connection to nature, NPT wants to build a greater awareness and appreciation of the importance of our country’s public lands and parks.
