Why the American Lung Association Supports Renewable Fuels

Experts with the ALA recognize that biodiesel not only reduces carbon emissions but can also provide health benefits associated with cleaner air.

The American Lung Association (ALA) has long been a champion for clean air because of the health risks associated with air pollution. That’s why the ALA supports increased use of cleaner-burning, renewable fuels such as biodiesel. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, pure biodiesel reduces life cycle carbon dioxide emissions by 57 to 86 percent compared with petroleum diesel.
