Amy Hanneman is the Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion at Northwestern Mutual.

Amy leads diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) across Northwestern Mutual for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring it is seen and felt at all levels of the organization, helping everyone maximize the link between DEI and bottom-line results.

Prior to joining Northwestern Mutual in 2019, Amy led DEI for DXC Technology, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP with over 20+ years of experience in Global Diversity, Inclusion & Human Rights. Prior to moving into D&I, she worked in multiple fields with Raytheon including sales, international business development, contracts negotiation, and government relations. Some career highlights include negotiating with NATO, being the chief of staff to a CEO, working on Capitol Hill, and leading 160 Employee Resource Groups in 32 countries.

Amy has a Master of Business Administration from Boston University and a Psychology degree from the University of Mississippi. She serves on the board of Out & Equal Workplace Advocates as well as the Milwaukee Urban League.

Recent awards include being recognized as a Top 100 Chief Diversity Officer in 2022 and 2023 by Diversity & Leadership, Inc, and being named to the 2022 Women's Leadership Diversity IMPACT 50 List.

Outside of work, her priorities are her partner Vaso and their four little superwomen. If you meet her, be prepared to answer the question, “If not you, then who?” which is the most important question she asks herself each day.
