Top Eight Sustainability and Socially-conscious Start-ups Selected to Compete in SBIO Finals to Decide Next Great Sustainable Brand at SB’12 Conference in San Diego CA, June 4 – 7
SAN FRANCISCO, May 22, 2012 – Sustainable Brands ‘12 today announced the eight finalists for its Sustainable Brands Innovation Open (SBIO) competition. Several leading sustainability and socially-conscious start-ups competed to win the privilege of contending for the grand prize in front of the more than 1,000 attendees at the Sustainable Brands 2012 Conference June 4-7 in San Diego. SBIO’s eclectic board of judges, including executives from Recyclebank, PRé North America, Inc, Unilever, Target and a number of other sustainability business leaders, examined entrants’ proposals to establish the first seven finalists. To determine the eighth finalist, SBIO partnered with GOOD Maker, an online production of GOOD Magazine that enables organizations to generate, promote, support, and implement innovative ideas for social change.

The eight finalists will receive free admission to the SB’12 conference where they will have the chance to network with and pitch to over 1,000 sustainable brand business leaders, including a global live-stream audience. At the conference, finalists will present their company’s offering to a group of social and sustainable investors, executives from leading companies, top brand consultants and their peers. The winning company will be awarded a free pass to SB’13, consultancy time with investors, designers and communications professionals and other prizes and perks to be revealed at the conference. More importantly, the winner will receive significant visibility, strategic support and recognition from this influential community of brand and thought leaders.
