Late last month, IKEA and entrepreneurial cooperative Rainmaking announced the launch of a new startup accelerator, IKEA Bootcamp, which will run from September 18 until December 8, 2017. The program will see startups create solutions for three challenges outlined by IKEA: creating products that are affordable, accessible and have positive impact on both people and planet.

IKEA has now revealed that North American startups interested in participating in the accelerator will have the opportunity to connect with IKEA’s innovation decision makers and pitch their ideas ahead of the program kickoff at a Head Start event in New York City as part of the IKEA Bootcamp Roadshow.

Ten startups will be selected to join the Head Start event, which will last approximately three hours, including time to pitch and meet with the IKEA Bootcamp team. Startups will get valuable feedback and advice on their ideas and increase their chances of being selected into the accelerator program.

The North American Head Start even will take place on July 6th and there are still spots left for interested startups to participate.

IKEA Bootcamp is open to early-stage startups from all around the world. Selected startups will receive a grant of €20,000 to develop their product and startup and free housing in Sweden for the duration of the accelerator. At the end of the program, startups will present their progress and business to IKEA and external investors at the IKEA Bootcamp Demo Day taking place in mid-December.
