BASF Opens First Plant In Sri Lanka To Meet Local Demand For Construction Chemicals

2 years ago - BASF’s first production plant in Sri Lanka will produce standard and custom-made performance-based construction chemicals under the Master Builders Solutions® brand. These include concrete admixtures product ranges such as MasterGlenium®, MasterPolyheed®, MasterRheobuild® and MasterPozzolith®. The new plant will allow BASF to better meet the increasing demand for construction chemicals to customers in Sri Lanka. The site is supported by an office, warehouse and a well-equipped testing lab that will deliver tailor-made recipes through formulation excellence.

Small farms produce roughly 40 percent of the world’s palm and palm kernel oil; an important question for the oil-producing countries is how to increase the yields from the land already under cultivation.

2 years ago - BASF Shanghai Coatings Co., Ltd. broke ground today on a new, world-scale automotive coatings plant at the company’s existing site at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park in Caojing, Shanghai, China. The new plant represents an investment of around €140 million and is expected to start operation in the fourth quarter of 2017. As the latest investment of the joint venture between BASF and Shanghai Huayi Fine Chemical Co., Ltd, the new plant is an expansion of the automotive coatings plant, which began production in 2014 at the same site.

2 years ago - The research firm Gartner Inc. has released the findings from its annual Supply Chain Top 25, identifying supply chain leaders and highlighting their best practices. Analysts announced the results May 18 at the Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. For the first time, Unilever topped the ranking, followed by McDonald's, Amazon, Intel, and a newcomer to the top five, the Swedish fashion retailer H&M. Five new companies made the Supply Chain Top 25 this year, with Schneider Electric, BASF, and BMW joining the list for the first time, and HP and GlaxoSmithKline rejoining after several years.
