With over 20 years' experience in sustainability communications, branding, and strategy, Guusje Bendeler (pronounced Who-sha) leads thinkPARALLAX in its mission to better the world by articulating and amplifying impact. Guusje leads day-to-day business strategy for the company, while providing senior counsel for clients such as International Paper, Southwest Airlines, Qualcomm and Scotiabank, among others.
Having lived and worked both in The Netherlands and the United States, Guusje brings a global perspective to her work. She is passionate about her belief in business being a force for good, and ensures that thinkPARALLAX walks its own talk as a Certified B Corporation and Women-owned business. Guusje is active in sharing her industry knowledge at conferences and in media outlets.
Prior to co-founding the agency in 2003, Guusje created award-winning campaigns at renowned agencies in The Netherlands and the United States. She also taught visual communication as an adjunct faculty member at San Diego State University.
Guusje holds a B.F.A in Design and Visual Communications from the Royal Academy of Art in The Netherlands.
In her free time, Guusje likes to travel, hike and do yoga, and spend time with her children and volunteering as an art teacher at their school.
