In many ways, the world we have created is designed for greed, not for generosity, and we want to change this. Most of us value generosity, but we struggle to let it work for us.

Let’s not pretend that generosity is easy, that we are wired for it, or that it is commonplace. It is not. Yet most would agree that “generosity” is needed to thrive, to grow, to prosper and to succeed.

Generosity Pays: An idea with currency for our new social world

Crafting for a world that is more generous by design can solve big issues and many small struggles of our daily life. It can combat inequality, de-humanization, apathy, racism, lack of creativity, and so much more. So we value generosity not because of the virtue that it is, but because it is a better practical way of doing what we do.

Crafting for a world that is more generous by design requires skill and dedication. With our new social media tools and information technologies, more and more people are learning to engineer generosity into a source of growth.

Skype offers people to call their friends for free — and thrives. Coca-Cola develops programs to give work to the unemployed in Latin America, and allows them to build distribution deep into the places where they need to sell. Greenpeace offers people to be the co-owner of their new “Rainbow Warrior” and builds a stronger community of supporters. Mondelez trains small farmers in growing cocoa and grows their income as it secures their sourcing.

But maybe we are not learning fast enough. Making generosity pay is an art as much as it is a skill that can be harnessed by many of us. Hence with the launch of GenerosityPays.org, Innate Motion wants to initiate an inspiration hub for a community of crafters more dedicated to making the craft of generosity work for us, for our businesses, and for the world at large.

As a start, we will we place a blog a day that offers insight and inspiration, on how to make generosity pay. We do not know all the answers, but we do know that if more of us give attention to it, value it and craft for it, we will all get better at it. With the Generosity Pays community, we want to work on one generosity challenge per month that is identified by this community of generosity crafters — and together will craft solutions for it.

Do you want to join this community?

If so please join us and become the co-creator of a world that is more generous by design.
