2 years ago - In honor of Earth Day, Kohler Co. is showcasing its work to repurpose industrial waste materials via a Facebook Live panel discussion. The panel, slated for Monday, April 23 at 2:30 p.m. CDT, will feature KOHLER WasteLab associates talking about their experimentation with byproducts from the company’s vitreous and cast iron manufacturing operations. The team’s first project uses pottery cull, iron slag, and leftover glazes and enamel powder for a line of ceramic tiles, which the company expects to begin marketing under the Ann Sacks brand in 2019.
2 years ago - Kohler Co. today announced a 15-year agreement to purchase 100 megawatts of wind power per year from the Diamond Vista wind farm located near Salina, Kansas. Enel Green Power North America will construct the project this year and will be the long-term owner and operator of the nearly 300 MW wind project. Enel acquired Diamond Vista from Kansas-based renewable energy developer Tradewind Energy.

Kohler, the leading manufacturer of kitchen and bath plumbing products in the U.S., has partnered with the EPA’s WaterSense® program since 2007 and was recognized again in 2017 for its leadership in water-saving product innovation and consumer advocacy. In 2008, the EPA named Kohler the first recipient of its WaterSense Manufacturer Partner of the Year Award. In each year since, Kohler has earned additional recognition from the EPA, including the agency’s first Sustained Excellence award in 2013.

Their 2016 campaign—including associate survey, essay competition and video—was honored with a Lotus Award from MARGINALIA magazine, which recognizes teams that invest in their workplace culture. "A few years ago, talking about ethics in EMEA was tough," said Scott Feltner, VP of Internal Audit. "It's such a diverse region that getting traction on the topic was difficult. Under Emma Smales and Victoria Champion’s leadership, they have assembled a cross-functional team and created a lot of energy on ethics communication and awareness in the region. Their unique approach resulted in winning this award."
