Danish CSR-prize recognizes Ørsted as a role model for sustainability reporting

The annual CSR prize seeks out best practices in economic, social and governance (ESG) reporting among Denmark’s biggest companies.

The annual CSR prize seeks out best practices in economic, social and governance (ESG) reporting among Denmark’s biggest companies.

Ørsted won a special recognition for its Sustainability report 2017, ESG performance report 2017 and Annual report 2017, at the 2018 CSR prize awards, on Wednesday. The CSR prize is awarded by FSR, the industry association for accountancy firms in Denmark.

The judging committee said Ørsted is a “role model” for reporting practices on sustainability and the transition from fossil fuel to green energy.

“[Ørsted] leaves the reader with optimism and trust that the company does what it says, by publishing a report that is brief, precise and reliable, and clearly establishes a vision for a future based on green energy,” said Denmark’s Crown Princess Mary, when announcing the recognition.

A New Era for Brand Integrity: Navigating the Greenhush-Greenwash Spectrum

Join us as leaders from Republik, NielsenIQ, Conspirators, Henoscene, be/co, The Guardian and Room & Board analyze what newly expanded notions of brand integrity mean for brands, and how to be smarter about picking language choices that avoid the dangerous extremes of greenhushing and greenwashing — Thurs, May 9, at Brand-Led Culture Change.

Priorities, programs, performance
The prize judging committee praised the Sustainability report 2017 for clearly communicating and linking Ørsted’s strategy, priorities, programs and risk management, while basing all of that on target and performance data. They also remarked favorably on the report’s compact size and readability.

“Ørsted is among those companies that have rapidly transitioned from black to green energy, and is today one of the largest green energy developers in the world,” says Marianne Wiinholt, CFO of Ørsted.

“Sustainability is an important competitive factor for us, and our reporting on this area needs to reflect how we work to embed sustainability throughout our entire business. We’re delighted to be recognized for our efforts,” she adds.
